This tutorial will guide you to install CM10.1 RC2 Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on the T-Mobile Galaxy S3 SGH-T999. This particular build is based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and will allow you to enjoy to the fullest the latest version of the Android OS on your S3. There are many other Custom ROMs available for S3. This version of the particular ROM comes with loads of improvements over the previous build with many bugs removed and a host of new features.

Before you being you will need to download the following files:

  • please download cm-10.1.0-RC2-d2tmo.zip; Click Here
  • please download Google Apps (gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip); Click Here

Please follow the guide below to install CM10.1 RC2 Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on T-Mobile Galaxy S3 SGH-T999

Step 1: connect your device to the PC using the USB cable provided

Step 2: make sure you have the aforementioned files already downloaded and copy to them to the SD Card of your device

Step 3: disconnect your phone and shut it off. Wait around 10 seconds before you turn it on to the recovery mode. To do so, please press and hold the volume up button, home button and power button. The screen will flash which is when you will release the buttons. The phone will enter recovery mode where you can navigate using the volume keys and select using the camera button key

Step 4: please create a Nandroid backup of your current ROM via the recovery mode. To do so, please select Backup and Restore and on the following screen select Backup. Go back to the main menu when done

Step 5: Please wipe data and factory reset your phone. Also wipe cache partition and dalvik cache

Step 6: Select the zip you downloaded and copied to your cellphone and wait for it to install. To do so you will need to select install zip from SD card and follow the options ahead. Once that is installed, follow the same steps to install Google Apps

Step 7: please head back to the main menu and reboot the phone. The phone will take a while since it is a fresh install after which you will boot right into the new OS you just installed.

Step 8: Enjoy!
