This application is for you if you are tired of those sharp edges that you really can’t do anything about. Your software is designed that way. While I personally do not mind having sharp edges (makes the screen look even bigger), some would prefer a rounded edge because it does seem more alluring and stylish. The best part about having rounded corners is that chances are that your cellphone will have a rounded body in which case, the rounded screens serve as a perfect compliment. Having said that, the screen does not look all that small even if you have the rounded corners but, I for one would not prefer them.

The interesting bit is that while many would compete on the hardware and software, no one really seems to care about the edges on the screen and even the general consumers don’t really care. If you have used MIUI for android, you will notice that they introduced rounded corners and they don’t look half bad. This particular application comes from a member of XDA Forums itself and it is called RoundR (probably pronounced like RoundER). It will round up your edges a little and give it a nice, pleasant look. It might not be a significant change, aesthetically speaking, but it does give your android cellphone and entirely different feel. All you need to do is download the application and install it. Once you launch the application, a notification will appear in the slide-down notification bar. Once you press that notification, you will be able to, set whether the application is to automatically launch on boot, toggle the application notifications on and off, select the corners to be rounded, and the size of the radius of the corners. This application is available for free on the Google Play Store and should be able to round off your edges if you are running Android 2.1 or higher.

The application is available as an open-source so if any of you developers out there are looking to contribute and willing to introduce new features, you can very well do that on your own. The source code for the application can be found here. This application is itself is fairly neat and light with absolutely no complications whatsoever. It only weighs in at 58 kilobytes. If you are willing to fetch out further details regarding the application you might want to visit the original thread right here. Let us know what you think.
